Modules
This project involved the delivery of a first-floor modular addition above an existing ground-floor dwelling within a tight residential neighbourhood in Kingsford.
The design responds to an irregular triangular corner site, requiring careful coordination of module geometry, structure and stair integration. Particular attention was given to the junction between the existing and new levels, where custom joinery and detailing create a seamless transition between floors.
Although constructed using modular methods, the addition reads as a continuous home rather than a prefabricated insertion. Key interfaces were resolved during design and factory construction, allowing the finished result to conceal the modular nature of the build both internally and externally.
Off-site construction significantly reduced neighbourhood disruption, with the upper level installed within a short timeframe and minimal impact to the surrounding residential context.
